Auctioneer Bill Todd displays an 1800s cutlery set that is in an extensive collection of memorabilia being sold at auction at Mabel Bush on Saturday. A cutlery set brought to New Zealand by early settlers in the 1800s, is amongst a rare collection of memorabilia being auctioned at Mabel Bush, near Invercargill, on Saturday. The Goldsmiths sourced a lot of their collection pieces from relatives, clearance sales, secondhand dealers and auctions. Goldsmith became a collector as a 7 or 8-year-old, with an early collection being with books from Southland Girls’ High School in the 1950s. In addition to collecting memorabilia Goldsmith does genealogy research for people.
