Two Southland businesses are preparing to merge, with one of them closing its doors for the last time on December 22. Alan Cross Tailors is closing and will merge with McCallums Group in the new year. Alan Cross Tailors owner Sheryl Cross said she was looking forward to merging her business with the team at McCallums Group. Both businesses have an extensive history in Southland with McCallums Group opening in 1927 and Alan Cross opening his store in 1956.
