Coach Chris Knight, left, and athlete Quinn Hartley holding the official forms that he will send to Athletics New Zealand to seek ratification of his long jump, of 7.30 metres, being a national record. Ratification will also give Hartley a new world ranking in men's under-18 long jump. The New Zealand long jump record Quinn Hartley set in Invercargill on Saturday has unofficially made him No 1 in the outdoors under-18 men’s world rankings, his coach says. A windsock was also positioned by the long jump to gauge weather conditions. The 4x100-metre relay team of Jack Stalker (Winton), William Robertson (Invercargill), Rico Fisher (Invercargill) and Quinn Hartley, (Invercargill) broke the Southland under-18 men’s record with a combined time of 45.16sec.
