Southern water schemes struggling

Water schemes in the Clutha District continue to have problems as they struggle with the recent large downpour of rain and warm weather in Central Otago. A statement from the Clutha District Council said boil water notices still existed for Richardson North and Glenkenich water schemes. Tuapeka West had no major leaks and the plant was pumping water "flat out' which may take about 12 hours for everyone to have water. This also applied to Kaka Point and the Richardson South Scheme where consumers were advised to be "vigilant'' in conserving water. The Conserve Water Notice is in place for the entire Clutha District so as to ensure the struggling plants can recover promptly.
