South Port profits exceed expectationsRobyn Edie South Port chief executive Mark O'Connor with commercial manager Nigel Gear at the company's freight centre in Invercargill. Gear will take over as chief executive when O'Connor steps down from the role in October. South Port will focus on upgrading infrastructure in the next 12 months, including a planned $5 million upgrade to its fuel input berth and a $2.2 million upgrade for its log storage. South Port chief executive Mark O'Connor said it was a pleasing result, given the 18 per cent increase in repairs and maintenance costs around the port this year.
