During a meeting with local MLA Raj Purohit of the BJP at Garware Club, Churchgate on Saturday morning, local residents pointed out their concerns and prepared a draft of suggestions for the civic body. In 2015 too, when a similar policy was mooted by the BMC, A-ward residents and Purohit had opposed it, ultimately prompting the Chief Minister to stay the implementation of the policy. During the meeting, among the main issues highlighted by the residents were high rates for the allotment of a parking space. Purohit said, "While the BMC is willing to implement the policy starting with the A-ward, the ward has a mix of residential and commercial areas. Among other concerns, residents listed apprehensions about security of vehicles and lack of coordination among the traffic police, local police and the BMC.
