The 31-year-old was seen with strapping around two of the fingers on his right hand during South Korea’s shock 2-0 defeat to Jordan in the semi-finals. On Tuesday, reports emerged suggesting Son had actually dislocated a finger after getting into a tussle with a younger team-mate the night before taking on Jordan. Son was believed to be unhappy that several younger members of the South Korea squad had tried to rush away from a team meal in order to play ping pong. ‘It happened when some young players went up to play table tennis, and Son Heung-min and other older players took issue with it,’ a South Korean FA official told the Korea Herald.
