Siao lauded yesterday the South Korean and Philippine governments for their immediate action on the return of 51 container vans of garbage to South Korea. He counted on the South Korean authorities to ensure the prosecution of those behind the importation of the “hazardous” garbage from South Korea to Misamis Oriental. He noted that Misamis Oriental Rep. Juliette Uy and the local government officials are keeping close watch over the cleanup operations. In his speech, he demanded that the consignee, Verde Soko Philippines Industrial Corporation, and its shipper based in South Korea pay for any and all expenses on the return of the garbage to South Korea.
