South Carolina coach Will Muschamp had plenty to say about the officiating late in the Gamecocks’ loss to the No. With about four minutes to go in the game, Muschamp’s sideline protestations drew a penalty flag for unsportsmanlike conduct, though he sounded the most upset about where the flag was thrown, not why. “The (official) ran 40 yards away and dropped the flag. … Drop it on my feet next time,” Muschamp told the media after the game. During his news conference, he didn’t talk about the officiating, only about that penalty flag.
