Sue McKeown, the mother of 14-year-old Jordan who died after falling through a skylight in 2015, shares her experience going through the Coroner's Court. The coroner was notified of three of the active cases in 2015, one in 2016, four in 2017, 19 in 2018, 37 in 2019, and 29 in 2020. Active cases which were provisional, pending the coroner’s final finding, were included. Jordan’s family had been warned at the time of his death that the Coroner’s Court was facing “a bit of a backlog”. McKeown said Coroner Tutton’s report, while “awful” reading, shed light on the circumstances around Jordan’s death “which is good”.
