India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat on a seamer-friendly wicket in the third Test against South Africa at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Wednesday. This is the first time since 2012 that India have gone into a Test without a spinner. The last time India played a Test without a spinner was in 2011-12 in Perth, Australia. Captain Faf du Plessis says they would have opted to bowl first had he won the toss.
