The study also reports that the poverty rate is at its highest level in seven years now reaching one million people more. According to the report, poverty levels hit 29 percent in 2015 to reach 34.5 percent in the first trimester of this year. “Since we took office, we decided not to hide poverty because that stigmatizes and does not help to solve the problems,” Stanley said.
