I said to him, ‘I blame you, man; we used to play an hour, an hour and a half. For me, however, 2.5 hours (plus encore) is where I tap out, whether it’s a stadium gig or an intimate club show. Thoughts of babysitters, last trains and the availability of taxis begin to creep in, the longer a monotonous gig rolls on. A good gig shouldn’t be a sprint, but nor should it be a gruelling marathon to endure.
