The cost-effective 'one rupee clinic' initiative, which has been successfully operating on the Central line railway stations for more than three months, will soon be functional on the Western Railway by the end of August. Authorities have planned to open the clinic at 10 railway stations on the Western line, and later cover all 24 railway station on this route. Till date, the 'one rupee clinic' initiative at the Central and Harbour line stations saw a footfall of over 17,000 visitors within three months in eight of these clinics. Work on the 10 clinics for the Western line has already started. "In Pune rather than making it functional on railway stations, it will be located in five different areas in the city," added Dr Ghule.
