Credit: Sony Interactive EntertainmentWhat with the runaway success of the Nintendo Switch, it’s not overly surprising that Sony is reappraising its portable gaming ambitions after the failure of the PlayStation Vita. Considering that the Switch has already overtaken the current lifetime sales of the Vita in a little over a year, it makes sense that Sony is reevaluating its position in regards to portable gaming. In a new interview with Bloomberg, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO John Kodera talks about the future of portable gaming for the company. In my opinion, rather than separating portable gaming from consoles, it’s necessary to continue thinking of it (portable gaming) as one method to deliver more gaming experiences and exploring what our customers want from portable. In any case, Sony is looking to keep its portable gaming options open and that is definitely good news.
