Sonic theatre adaptation of Greek tragedy addresses identity, history, and change

The Bacchae, presented by cross-border theatre outfit Exit 11 Performing Arts Company (Exit 11), is an audio adaptation of ancient Greek playwright Euripedes’ well known tragedy. To place the audience within the world of the audio play, Tan says the production’s sound designer Reema El-Kaiali, a Palestinian-American audio engineer, used binaural audio editing. Tan, Lee (a British-American currently based in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE) and Kevin Ke from Taiwan are all NYU Abu Dhabi graduates, who co-founded Exit 11 in Nov 2019. To register, visit Exit 11.
