KOTA BARU: The son of Salor assemblyman Datuk Husam Musa was charged at the magistrate’s court here on Wednesday with possession of 20gm of a drug believed to be methamphetamine. Ahmad Syafi Husam, 29, pleaded not guilty to the charge before magistrate Kamarul Hasyime Rosli. The accused was charged under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which is punishable under Section 39 A (1) of the same Act. Ahmad Syafi was represented by five lawyers, led by counsel Firdaus Mohd Yusoff. Shahirun had earlier demanded RM15,000 bail for the accused, but Firdaus asked for the amount to be reduced to RM8,000.
