JOHOR BARU: A mother and son were killed when the vehicle they were in was struck by a trailer lorry at Km63.3 of the Desaru-Senai Highway near Kota Tinggi yesterday. The two, who died on-the-spot, were identified as Amiruddin Mohamed, 25 and his mother, Awa Ismail, 68. Amiruddin’s father, Mohamed Lajis, 69, sustained minor injuries, while the 48-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt. The bodies were taken to the Kota Tinggi Hospital. Kota Tinggi police chief Supt Ahsmon Bajah confirmed the incident.
