A man is wanted for allegedly stealing a 70-year-old man’s dog after asking if he could pet it in the Church and Wellesley neighbourhood earlier this week, police say. According to a Saturday press release, the man was walking his dog, a 7-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Tuvik near Wood and Church Sts. After asking if he could pet the dog, the man picked it up, unhooked the leash and fled, said the release. Police describe the suspect as white, between 30 and 35 years old, six-foot, with a thin build and short blond hair.
