Thus, each impeachment inquiry – it has only happened four times in US history – is a unique event. The US stock markets wobbled significantly when the impeachment inquiry was announced, and are going to see further shocks as more scandalous things are revealed in the coming weeks. The second implication of the impeachment affects trade, and Duterte’s attachment to Trump may yet prove to be a bad choice in this respect as well. This is where Duterte’s political orientation might be a problem.
