At the end of the quarter, Twitter had 67 million US-based users and 250 million international users. Compare this to its metrics at the time of its IPO: more than 218.3 million monthly active users and more than 100 million daily active users worldwide. However, its anemic user growth rates, losses, and toxicity have been hampering its buyout prospects. Unlike Twitter, it has seen phenomenal user growth from 50 million in 2014 to more than 110 million daily active users in 2015. If they fail to monetize effectively or their user growth saturates, they might end up like Twitter.
