Some Democrats are blaming themselves for Donald Trump. That doesn’t make sense.

A piñata vendor adjusts a pinata in the image of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in Tijuana, Mexico. In it, Wolfson basically argues that Democrats' over-the-top rhetoric about recent GOP presidential candidates has hampered their efforts to stop Donald Trump. About two-thirds (68 percent) thought his comment saying that a judge hearing the Trump University cased was inherently biased against Trump because of his Mexican heritage was racist. This is unbelievable to people who think Trump's racism and demagoguery are clear as day, and that these things should already have completely disqualified him. The idea that Trump is still in the game because people have become desensitized by exaggerated political attacks is a tempting conclusion to draw.
