Salvador Belaro Jr. is proposing an on-site housing program for public school teachers. He filed House Bill 7154 or the proposed On-site Teachers’ Housing Act of 2018 which grants housing to teachers nearest to their respective workplaces. Covered by the bill are all teachers of the Department of Education (DepEd) with permanent status. “If the government would be able to provide our teachers with housing near the school where they are regularly assigned, this would ensure loyalty of our teachers to their professions.
