The Commons Select Committee on the Armed Forces Bill had arranged a virtual visit of single living and Service families' accommodation. But last week's visit was torpedoed with less than 24 hours' notice after troops were allegedly stopped from speaking out. Defence Minister Johnny Mercer, a former Army captain, is expected to be challenged over the decision when he appears before MPs on Wednesday. “The MoD is devising a new visit itinerary for the committee, where they will hear from service personnel on issues that relate to the Bill.”
