But last week's visit was torpedoed with less than 24 hours' notice after troops were allegedly stopped from speaking out. Defence Minister Johnny Mercer, a former Army captain, is expected to be challenged over the decision when he appears before MPs on Wednesday. “The MoD is devising a new visit itinerary for the committee, where they will hear from service personnel on issues that relate to the Bill.”
