Police said the incident, that took place Tuesday morning, has injured three more soldiers, reports NDTV. A joint team of the army's paratroopers, state police, and the Central Reserve Police Force were carrying out searches in Nadigam village – 60km from Srinagar – when the terrorists opened fire on them. The army had intelligence about terrorists hiding in the area and had launched a search operation in the early hours of Tuesday. Srinagar-based defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia confirmed to the media that the operation occurred and four terrorists were shot dead.
