A British Army soldier was cleared of rape but convicted of sexual assault after telling a court martial that his victim 'liked rough, kinky sex'. The female soldier, who can't be named for legal reasons, described the alleged attack as 'the most unconsensual experience of my life'. In a recorded interview played to the court, she told police: 'It was almost like an out of body experience. However, Spr Herrington told the court sex that night had been consensual after the pair struck up a sexual relationship and spoke about their interests. Later, while at the party, the female soldier appeared to fall asleep and Spr Herrington carried her back to his room.
