RUBABUDDIN SHEIKH, brother of slain gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh, and his guard have been hospitalised after they were assaulted allegedly by a local VHP leader, Bhairulal Tank, and others in Nagda town of Ujjain district. Both Rubabuddin and Tank, who runs a cow protection campaign, have been provided police guards. Rubabuddin told The Indian Express that he had gone to Yadav’s house to greet him on Diwali but the VHP leader objected to his presence in the Hindu locality. He said the house where Yadav lives has been purchased by Tank and the latter wanted to get it vacated. Varma said there was no evidence that Tank fired in the air.
