Hearing in the Supreme Court today in the bail case of social activist Teesta Setalvad, who is in jail in the Gujarat riots case. Teesta has been arrested for allegedly creating evidence to implicate innocent people in the 2002 Gujarat riots. Earlier Teesta had filed an application in the Gujarat High Court. The affidavit said that Teesta had collected fake evidence at the behest of politicians and received money for this work. The government has told the Supreme Court that Teesta, along with other accused, committed several criminal acts and was involved in crimes.
