The invite-only dinner on Friday night, which was attended by President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, saw monied businessmen and top government officials making huge contributions. The high-profile event, in which the media was completely barred from covering, had those in attendance seated according to their contributions. Then came the Silver group who parted with Sh2.5 million, followed by the Bronze category who offered Sh1 million and lastly the Garnet category who contributed Sh500,000.
