Their comments came in a new discussion paper from Koi Tū: The Centre for Informed Futures at the University of Auckland. “That is where social cohesion will start to break down and the mental wellbeing of many will be further affected.”Sir Peter said social cohesion needed to be a key policy consideration. Spoonley said greater cohesion was often seen in the initial response to major crises as people pulled together against a common threat. But as time wore on, that cohesion could be lost, and could in fact become worse than before the crisis.
