Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, held a meeting with the team overseeing the Strategic Financial System for Economic Empowerment at the Ministry, in the presence of Hala El-Said, Economic Adviser to the President, to review the programme’s progress. The discussions underscored that economic empowerment has become a central strategic pillar for the Ministry, reflecting a shift from traditional support-based approaches towards development, productivity, and sustainable livelihoods. Regular coordination meetings are held to ensure integration across programmes, maximise impact, and avoid duplication of services provided to priority households. In addition, the system offers awareness and training programmes, as well as microfinance and digital financial inclusion services through the “Tahweesha” (Savings) application. For her part, Hala El-Said emphasised that economic empowerment is the foundation of effective social protection, praising the growing integration between the postal system and Nasser Social Bank in delivering financial services to target groups.
