UEFA will change the format of its continental qualifiers for the Women's World Cup from 2023 following criticism over a lack of competitiveness, the head of women's football at the European soccer governing body, Nadine Kessler, has said. "It's not good for the development of women's football, not for smaller or big associations, and it will change as of 2023. Kessler said UEFA would consider a Nations League-like format as an option. The Nations League, a biennial men's competition, is divided into four divisions based on UEFA rankings and linked with European qualification for the World Cup. The next Women's World Cup finals will be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20 2023.
