Samuel Finnemore, 19, died outside a rental home he shared with fellow university students in Riccarton, Christchurch in New Zealand early on Tuesday. Paramedics who attended the scene could not revive Mr Finnemore, who was a geology student at the University of Canterbury. 'He was well-liked, happy, and he cherished time with his many friends in Auckland, Christchurch and Wanaka. His former school principal, Mark Wilson, of Kristin School said Mr Finnemore was a 'much-liked student and member of our school community'. Mr Finnemore won several age group snowboarding events including at Rookie Fest in 2019 and the senior boys' title at the Auckland Secondary Schools Snowboarding Championships in 2020.
