Road users are being warned to take care due to rain and snow affecting State Highway 8 in Central Otago. The New Zealand Transport Agency advised that part of SH8 in Central Otago, from Cromwell to Tarras, was flooded from mid-morning. It said rain was falling as snow above 500 metres on the highway from Tarras to Omarama. The cars were trapped from midday for two to three hours after about 15cm of snow fell in the region. Around the main centres, in Dunedin it would be cloudy with the odd morning shower on Sunday, light winds and a high of 12degC.
