Asked when the EC was ready to hold snap polls, CEC Huda said, “The government takes the decision on snap elections. HM Ershad has also asked his Jatiya Party to get ready for snap polls several times. The ruling Awami League, however, has been firm on seeing the next parliamentary elections organised in time following the Constitution. We are committed to holding fair elections,” CEC Huda said. CEC Huda also said they discussed the use of electronic voting machines or EVMs in the polls.
