A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) spokesman said firefighters were called to 110 Leven St after 2pm. Senior station officer Nick Barclay, of Invercargill, said at the scene the building was filled with smoke after a flu split, spilling out smoke. A reporter at the scene said the building was evacuated.
