Citizens, however, may have to provide the biometric details later on for updating the electoral roll, says an EC official. “The commission will meet on Tuesday to discuss the proposal and make a final decision,” the EC Secretary Mohammad Abdullah told bdnews24.com. Citizens must go to designated centres at appointed times in order to provide biometric details. “Distributing the cards without taking iris scans or fingerprint data will not cause any problems,” the EC secretary said.
