Getting back to the ICC... Manohar had been the ICC chairman from late last year till his resignation as the BCCI president. On Thursday morning, less than 48 hours after resigning as the BCCI president, Manohar took over as the first (elected) independent chairman of the ICC. It's interesting that the ICC had been without a chairman, independent or otherwise, for close to two days. He'd hand-picked Manohar, persuading him to return as the BCCI president after Jagmohan Dalmiya's demise (on September 20 last). That Manohar could look for a full two-year term as the ICC chairman instead of merely serving as Narayanswami Srinivasan's replacement till early July was exclusively filed by this Reporter on April 3 itself.
