Smart Industry World 2017 to shape Vietnamese smart industryHeld for the first time in Vietnam, Smart Industry World 2017 saw the participation of state management bodies, researchers, experts, and the business community to discuss future orientations and methods to attract investment and develop the Vietnamese smart industry. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc speaking at Smart Industry World 2017Organised on December 4-5, Smart Industry World 2017, themed “Shaping and Developing Smart Manufacturing Industries in the Future,” is a large-scale international event on smart technology, consisting of a series of four seminars and an exhibition on technologies under Industry 4.0. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that the event offered an opportunity for Vietnam to identify advantages, difficulties, and challenges to determine the orientation, major tasks, and measures necessary to develop its smart industry in the near future. He noted that the Vietnamese government should focus on guiding the building and development of the digital economy and the smart industry, considering them as key tasks in restructuring the economy as well as shifting the growth model towards improved productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness. The exhibition was divided into three parts: fintech, software and information infrastructure and hardware (robot, automation and smart city models).
