The result: Ms. Warren and Mr. Sanders have each been able to hire more staff than Mr. Biden has, and Ms. Warren has booked significantly more advertising time. It also comes as Mr. Trump and Republicans have accused Mr. Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, of improprieties in their dealings with Ukraine. The Biden campaign believes the attacks may prompt Democrats to rally around Mr. Biden. Taken together, it means four of Mr. Biden’s Democratic rivals could have the resources to outpace him in deploying organizers in early voting states. A Journal analysis of Mr. Biden’s campaign-finance records shows that in the third quarter, Mr. Biden had about 450 paid staff members and consultants, nearly 100 fewer than Mr. Sanders.
