Former Rangitata MP Jo Goodhew is standing for the South Canterbury District Health Board in this year's local government elections. With nominations now officially open for local government elections, a familiar South Canterbury face has emerged. Meanwhile, there are two positions up for grabs in South Canterbury for Environment Canterbury. She said she had been considering running for the health board since the start of the year. With the exception of the health board elections, all local government elections in South Canterbury are done on a First Past the Post (FPP) basis.
