Bangladesh bowlers made it almost a thriller by taking quick wickets in the end but the Blackcaps still had 17 balls left when they overhauled the target of 245 for win at The Oval in London on Wednesday. Like Bangladesh, the Kiwis lost wickets at regular intervals, but Ross Taylor held the nerve to make an invaluable 82 and left his side needing 54 runs with five wickets and 11.3 overs in hand when he was dismissed. New Zealand’s skipper Kane Williamson supported Taylor in a 105-run partnership with 40 runs off 72 balls. Bangladesh bowlers Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mosaddek Hossain, and Mohammad Saifuddin took two wickets each – all in quick succession.
