The men trounced home country Brazil 9-0 in their penultimate pool match, while the women had a tougher time in their match against Spain, eventually winning 2-1. Still smarting from the shock loss to Japan, the Sevens side was outclassed by top seeds Fiji. In the pool, Michael Phelps was closing on more Games glory, the American making the final of the 200m individual medley. Kiwi medal hopes were dashed again today by shock loses in rugby and more delays to the rowing.
