Police say a driver was likely distracted by a passing moose-vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway near Holyrood Thursdsay when they struck an animal themselves. Holyrood saw a parade of moose-vehicle collisions Thursday morning, with four crashes reported within an hour-and-a-half. According to RCMP in Holyrood, three moose were struck on the TCH near Foxtrap and Salmonier, while a fourth was hit near Conception Harbour. "It appears that one vehicle may have struck a moose while trying to see what was happening across the highway at another crash minutes earlier," Staff Sgt. During the 80-minute burst of accidents, yet another moose was struck in Bellevue.
