Slauson Super Mall owners blasts L.A. Times reporting on its future

LOS ANGELES – The operators of the Slauson Super Mall is fighting back claims alleging the future of the store is bleak. Ashley Ahn, with the Los Angeles Times wrote an article titled Korean merchants have kept the Slauson swap meet alive for 40 years. Slauson Super Mall vendors blamed a decline in revenue and customers due in part to over zealous security and the high cost of rent for the spaces they occupy. Another popular swap meet that closed in Los Angeles County was the Compton Swap Meet in 2014. Ahn has not made any public comments and/or corrections on her story since the mall operators blasted her reporting.
