Archaeologists discovered the skeleton within a burial chamber, hidden in the pre-Columbian archaeological site of Holmul. Inside a pyramid, archaeologist Francisco Estrada Belli discovered a burial chamber with bones from what he believes is a Mayan Queen. (Image: National Geographic)In the documentary, which Mirror Online was given early access to, Mr Belli said: “We have a skeleton. “The location is right for a royal person.”Further excavations revealed a second burial chamber next door, raising hopes that the skeleton of a King would also be found.
