The Employment Support Scheme Secretariat today published the name list of the sixth batch of employers who received wage subsidies. About 11,600 employers have received wage subsidies totaling about HK$4.7 billion for June to August, and committed to maintaining a total paid headcount of about 200,000 during the subsidy period, a government spokesman said. According to the list, HKT Services Limited with a headcount of 11,465 received the biggest wage subsidies totaling about HK$268.3 million, while its parent company, PCCW Services Limited, with a headcount of 3,324, received wage subsidies of HK$81.7 million. Together with the first six batches of wage subsidies that have been disbursed, the wage subsidies involved in the seven batches amount to about HK$40.5 billion, covering nearly 138,000 employers and a total committed headcount of paid employees of about 1.75 million. Excluding the 12,500 ineligible applicants who have not been approved wage subsidies, the ESS Secretariat has completed processing nearly 90 percent of the applications received from employers.
