Animal lovers fear a seventh northern bottlenose whale seen desperately trying to get out to sea could perish too. The tragedy, believed to be the largest live stranding in Irish history, unfolded at the beach in Rossnowlagh, Donegal, today. Members of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group said they did everything they could to make the huge animals comfortable, but were unable to save their lives. "One of them is still alive and can still be seen trying to breathe." However she said that the chances of the surviving whale making it to safety were remote.
