Six provincial directors of NPC resign

Provincial directors of six provinces of the National Police Commission (NPC) have resigned with effect from today, the NPC Spokesperson said. Accordingly, provincial directors of the NPC Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North Western and Western Province (Gampaha and Kalutara) have resigned from their posts. They had claimed that they resigned due to issues with the Chairman of the NPC. Responding to their claims, Chairman of the National Police Commission, former IGP Chandra Fernando says that the provincial directors have resigned due to their inefficiency. Provincial directors who are senior administrative officers have been working in their positions since 2012.
