Six mobile manufacturers are planning to preinstall government's application BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) on their mobile phones, a part of government's plan to drive adoption of digital payment services. The only prerequisite is to link the mobile number to the bank account and the SIM card of the mobile number linked to the bank account should be used in the mobile handset while transacting. According to estimates, there have been over 20 million downloads of BHIM app till now. NPCI is the process of integrating Bharat QR code with BHIM app. Through BHIM app, one can transfer money from one bank account to other from his smartphone using UPI platform.
